Turning an app launch into an experience

Ypsomed AG, Diabetes Congress (DDC)

The renowned Diabetes Congress was held in Berlin this year for the 59th time. The congress is one of the most important events for specialists from the fields of research, medical practice and industry. Around 6,000 visitors took advantage of the opportunity to learn about the latest scientific developments in the field of diabetes and to share expertise and knowledge in presentations, symposia and workshops.

For our client Ypsomed, this year’s exhibition was a momentous highlight: their trade fair booth was centred around the launch of the «mylife Loop» app for iOS. The app is an innovative system for automated insulin delivery via smartphone. Reason enough to update their proven modular trade fair booth concept.

With an area of 35 m2, the booth offered plenty of space for information and discussions – and a festive atmosphere. A glittering disco ball made the perfect statement for the iOS launch, while visitors could try out a large-format version of the app right in the booth on an XXL iPad stele. A magnet wall and a photobooth invited visitors to participate with exciting «This or That» games and offered opportunities for genuine interaction. Visitors could choose one of two options, thus immersing themselves in the brand world in an entertaining way.

Thanks to the modular design, the existing trade fair booth could be adapted flexibly – from set-up all the way to presentation and staging. Large banners above the stand guaranteed maximum visibility and clearly communicated the new product, while an integrated screen in the wall system displayed content about the new app. The clever system served not only as a presentation surface, but also as a discreet storage solution.

An all-round successful exhibition with a clear message – presented in an unexpected way that was confident and unique, and which turned the launch into an interactive experience.
