In memoriam Hugo Keller

It is with great sadness that we bid farewell to our Managing Director of many years, Hugo Keller, who passed away on 9 July 2023, aged 61, after a long illness.

Hugo Keller joined Andreas Messerli AG in 2000 as the Director of Finance and Controlling. In the subsequent years he steadily extended his sphere of influence and responsibility and, as Managing Director, he played a decisive role in founding and constantly expanding the Messerli Group AG.

We mourn an outstanding person who made his mark on our company at all levels and helped shaped it to an extraordinary degree. His entrepreneurial mindset, combined with his far-sightedness and vision, made a major contribution to the Group’s success.

With his passing, we not only lose a constant and loyal companion in our everyday business, but above all a good friend and mentor. With his sensitive and passionate approach, he understood better than anyone how to motivate, influence and develop his colleagues. Hugo was always curious and receptive. These characteristics helped him to quickly acquire a high level of competence and expertise in new and complex subjects and matters. This made him a very successful entrepreneur and a valued contact both inside and outside our companies.

We are deeply saddened by his death; he leaves a large gap. We owe him our ceaseless thanks for his tireless dedication over the last two decades. We will miss him very much and will honour him in our memories.

We would like to extend our sincerest sympathies and condolences to his family.
