A colourful evening for a worthy cause

Zoofäscht, Zoo Zurich

When the grounds of Zoo Zurich transform into a social hotspot for 750 invited guests, it can only mean one thing: the Zoofäscht. This exclusive event has been raising funds for Zoo Zurich since 1986. In the spotlight at the 16th Zoofäscht was the hyacinth macaw, the world’s largest parrot species, and the planned Pantanal aviary in Zoo Zurich.

As general contractor, Messerli provided site management for a seamless and efficient event. Our sister company, Hunziker AG, erected six tents for this special evening next to the Lewa Savanna, creating more than 2,400 m2 of canopied space.

The impressive entrance area, with its lush vegetation and mirrored wall and floor panels designed by Konform, was as eye-catching as the main tent. The long tables, the colourful decorations and multitude of plants brought wonder to guests’ faces. The evening also featured professional dancers and stilt walkers in colourful costumes that recalled South America’s most colourful bird, the macaw. After the gala dinner, the guests enjoyed live music by Marc Sway and his band.

The “Zoo Club”, situated next to the large festival hall, featured projections and plants for a dense jungle atmosphere. Furnishings from our rental line and a DJ podium rounded out the ambiance perfectly. Here guests celebrated into the night in a setting so colourful that even the parrots turned pale with envy.

The evening was an unforgettable success, thanks to an outstanding collaboration with Messerli Group sister companies Hunziker AG, Konform and Dr W A Günther Media Rent AG. The conception and design of the decorations came from the creative design studio of Raoul Sanchez.
