In Switzerland, Samsung is mainly known as a consumer electronics manufacturer. The fact that the company also makes high-quality household appliances has until now been less well known. But with its increased trade fair presence, that is set to change.
For a few years now, Samsung has been marketing domestic appliances in Switzerland, and the company is actively investing in raising awareness of this side of its business. Part of its strategy is to make regular appearances at consumer exhibitions and trade fairs. The idea is that by having its own stand in this field, it will bring these products to the attention of developers and end users.
To this end, the designers at Messerli came up with a stand concept that showcases Samsung products in an exciting way. They took their inspiration from the look of the old way of drawing up plans – known as blueprints –, in which the printing process produces blue lines. The idea was to create a 3-D version of a construction plan, complementing it with real appliances. The end result was a stand representing a domestic set-up, using blue outlines to showcase the appliances and the ways in which they are used.
Stand visitors were greeted by the motto “Welcome to the new home”, inviting them to come in and look around. The stand featured everything you would find in a modern home – from a vacuum cleaner to a washing machine to air conditioning units. Anyone wishing to know more could view detailed information on the Samsung range on fixed tablet computers.
This successful concept has already been used at various fairs and exhibitions and is continually being developed further.
