Light and airy yet full of life

Mammut Sports Group AG, Outdoor 2017, Friedrichshafen

At the OutDoor trade fair in Friedrichshafen, sporting goods manufacturer Mammut effectively showed that, sometimes, less really is more. Its emphasis this year was on new products from the Eiger Extreme collection, which combines reduced weight with improved functionality. The trade fair concept was befittingly light and airy.

The OutDoor in Friedrichshafen is Europe’s premier trade fair for sporting goods manufacturers and retailers. In June 2017, Mammut used this platform to showcase its highlights and new products from the Eiger Extreme collection. Its concept for the fair was based on the pledge «Less weight – more performance, freedom and adventure».

Messerli came up with a design that visually reflected the idea of lightness and offered ample space for presenting the product highlights. The stand’s centrepiece, an x-shaped podium that appeared to float in the air, was used to present the collection’s latest products. Arranged around the podium were standing tables for consultations and a range of further product displays. Completing the trade-fair stand were a bar, meeting rooms and two smaller showrooms in which to present the brand’s full collection.

An especially attractive feature were the moss elements embellishing the partitions and the space below the podium. Together with the images of breathtaking landscapes, they infused the stand with a spirit of outdoor adventure.
