Macchi S.p.A, K 2016, Düsseldorf

If a trade-fair stand and its exhibits appear as one integrated whole, the design and construction teams have got it right. With Macchi’s presence at the K 2016 trade fair in Düsseldorf, they did just that, creating a masterpiece in the process.

Italy is internationally renowned for first-class design. That this also applies to the machine industry is amply demonstrated by the Italian company Macchi, a leading supplier of extrusion systems for the production of synthetic film. Their highly specialised systems rely on a modern, clear design that communicates quality and innovation. At the K 2016 trade fair in Düsseldorf, Macchi displayed one of their latest developments: the Coex 5 POD. With an impressive height of around 15 metres, the exhibit took up a good half of the 290-square-metre exhibition space. The aim was for it to form a visual whole with the two-storey stand.

In order to achieve this, the Messerli designers gave the trade-fair stand a modern, minimalist style. The coffee lounge and meeting rooms had a simple black-and-white colour scheme and were equipped with modern designer furniture. Harmonious black-and-white images in keeping with the decor gave the interior additional atmosphere. A large lamella construction broke up the front of the stand, creating transparency and giving the trade-fair presence its strong character.

Macchi had an extremely successful few days at the K 2016 and were able to establish many new contacts. For Messerli, too, this was one of the highlights of almost 20 years of collaboration.
