IGP Pulvertechnik

Urban vision

IGP Pulvertechnik AG, Swissbau 2020, Basel

At Swissbau, Switzerland’s number one trade fair for the construction and real estate industries, IGP Powder Technology Ltd impressed visitors with a new exhibition concept. With the help of Messerli, the world’s leading powder coatings specialist demonstrated its urban side and showcased its system solutions for surface coatings.

IGP is the perfect partner for anyone in the market for durable, high-quality, environmentally friendly system solutions for surface coating in the areas of architecture, wood-based materials, transport and industry. IGP’s powder coatings feature unique characteristics and are some of the highest quality products in this sector. Together with its parent company, DOLD AG, which was also represented at the booth, IGP was able to present its entire range of professional coating and paint solutions.

In terms of the architectural concept of the booth, the Messerli design team took inspiration from an urban setting, and more specifically, an outdoor one. After all, this is where IGP products are forced to endure the harshest conditions. Accordingly, the booth was made to resemble an urban rooftop terrace with a view of a major metropolis. The replication of a shipping container as a wall element and the floating roof construction gave the booth an open, inviting appearance. A back-lit illuminated frame with a city skyline stylishly underscored the overall theme.

A custom-made display as an eye-catcher

The central element of the presentation was a custom-made display whose triangular surface tiles all featured a different coating – IGP powder coating, of course. This allowed the visitors to better understand and compare the different coatings and their characteristics. Messerli used a clever trick to cover up the exhibition hall’s columns: by disguising them as presentation columns for displaying samples and new products, they went from bothersome obstacles to attention-grabbing features. While the sample display and the mobile display columns offered space to showcase products, the spacious hospitality area provided visitors to the booth with a place to have interesting discussions.

With this new, modular trade fair concept, which can be flexibly scaled up or down as needed, Messerli was able to spatially embody IGP AG’s philosophy and passion for powder coatings. Their successful appearance at the trade fair allowed IGP to reinforce its position as a leader in surface coating technology, make a number of new contacts, and lay the groundwork for new business relationships.
