The lightness of being

FLYER AG, Roadshow in Germany

Cycling on a FLYER makes the rider feel light as a feather. And the Swiss e-bike manufacturer’s modular trade fair booth, which went on a tour of Germany in early 2015, was designed to impart precisely this feeling of lightness.

Stuttgart, Hamburg, Munich, Essen and Berlin: between January and March 2015, FLYER AG took its FLYERs to a number of sports and leisure trade fairs around Germany. To make this roadshow possible, Messerli created a booth concept with a sleek, minimalist look that was extremely easy to set up, dismantle and transport thanks to its modular design.

With such a packed schedule, it’s no wonder that the Messerli designers were inspired by a shipping crate. Reinterpreted and painted a bright shade of white, it provided the perfect framework for the presentation of the e-bike, which clearly took centre stage. To inform potential customers about the “Tour”, “Urban” and “Mountain” product lines, the electric bicycles were showcased on pre-installed pedestals and presented together with matching pictograms that illustrated the different areas of use.

The interior design was rounded out with backlit graphics that provided emotional touchpoints and colourful accents. In this way, Messerli’s designers were able to use simple materials to create a high-quality presentation platform that clearly highlighted both the products and the company itself. The concept embodied the feeling of freedom and lightness that cyclists enjoy when riding a FLYER.
